Lawsuits involving aviation accidents usually involve complex issues relating to aircraft design and integrity, piloting skills, regulation compliance, airtraffic controls and procedures, inaccurate weather forecasts, and numerous government regulations and procedures.

Mr. Stageberg is an experienced private pilot and has handled several major aircraft accident cases for innocent passengers as well as pilots and crew members.

Notable among the cases are:
 Cosgrove v. McDonnell Douglas Helicopter Company, 1993.
This products liability case, involving the crash of a helicopter, was brought on behalf of the pilot against the helicopter manufacturer. A two week trial resulted in a favorable verdict for the injured pilot in the sum of $453,000.

 Lund v. Corporate Air, Inc., 1989.
This was an aviation wrongful death case involving the crash of a Lear Jet owned by defendant Corporate Air at Rochester, Minnesota, resulting in the death of three occupants. In the action of a student pilot against the instructor pilot for negligence, a wrongful death verdict of $500,000 was obtained after 2 1/2 weeks of trial.
